This restaurant is a stand alone place situated on gulf road with ample parking. The place is large but still reservation is recommended as this place is quite popular with the locals. The ambience is perfect, modern and airy. The food is typical Kuwaiti. Majboos was flavorful. The grill was perfectly done. We had ordered date cake .. it was nice. They have their own bakery which sells sweets. Upstairs they have private party room. The view is good and space is ample.
Dar Hamad is the perfect place to eat if you want to try the delicious Kuwaiti food. All of the dishes are done in the correct Kuwaiti way and are decorated with a modern, unique twist. Besides the food, Dar Hamad is a restaurant that has an exceptional interior design that brings a lot of visual joy. The details are intriguing and the design is plain beautiful. Salute to the owners!
Impressive building with interesting modern architectural touches. The inside is well designed, with interesting features and highlights. I particularly liked the wooden curvature in the central atrium and thought the paper lantern chandelier was cute.
If you'd like to be treated well, dress upscale. I stopped in after a walk and had jeans, my Dodgers hoodie and loafers, consequently I was relegated to a table by the entrance, with the nannies and children.
The waitress wasn't knowledgeable at all about the traditional preparations of various items, so that was disappointing, but I finally settled on the lamb and fragrant rice dish, it's the first item listed under traditional kuwaiti dishes.
The food did not disappoint at all. Beautiful presentation, with the tomato sauce served piping hot in a little sauce decanter. The rice was well cooked, fragrant and sprinkled with raisins. The lamb was delicious. Cooked to perfection and lightly spiced, it was a good combination. It was also too much for one hungry person, so I'd recommend sharing it.
After paying my bill, I wandered into the sweets bakery that's in the way out and sampled a few of their offerings. To an Indian, they were all very familiar, and reminiscent of sweets I ate growing up. Certainly worth getting a box or two.
Overall, I'd certainly recommend the restaurant.
